Victoria Hall, at 179 High Street, is the current home of Deckchair Theatre.
It was built in 1896 & '97 as St John's parish hall.[1]
After World War II, Bob Wrightson leased the hall for use as a dance studio; some years later he bought it[1], and in 1974 attempted to demolish it.
