Herbert Abbott

Herbert Abbott (1870-1954) came to Western Australia from South Australia and as a builder on his own account built the Water Police Station and Quarters in Marine Terrace. He was in partnership with Richard Rennie from January 1904 at the latest, and Abbott & Rennie built five goods sheds on the wharf, Moores building at 42-46 Henry Street, the Tramways Car Barn at 1 High Street and Manning Chambers (principally). Abbott & Rennie also constructed buildings at Kalgoorlie and Northam. The partnership was dissolved in November 1906 and Herbert Abbott returned to South Australia and commenced farming at Mt Barker in the Adelaide Hills.
