Convict-Built Wall Holdsworth Street

A small section of wall in Holdsworth Street, west of and close to the corner of Parry Street is part of the original perimeter wall of the Convict Establishment, built soon after 1850. It would have enclosed the prison garden.
The next section of the street contains a set of four (extant) warders cottages, with low walls to the street.
Then, at the bend in Holdsworth Street where it joins Henderson Street at a right-angle, is the site of the former sappers-miners barracks, on which the police station/courthouse complex was built in 1899.

Three photos to show the set of four warders cottages. Are the walls 1850s originals?

There is a street-wide opening to the west of the cottages, giving access to a new street called Richard Lane and to the artillery buildings – as Holdsworth Street makes a 30° bend.

The first part of the wall after the bend is covered by a creeper. When it re-appears, it is topped with those sharpish bits of stone (?) which are found atop several other sections of convict-built wall – not to mention the walls of the prison itself.

The yard behind the wall used to be the garden/waiting area of both the police station and the courthouse, as they both adjoined it. Now the umbrellas suggest a new role, as an outdoor area for the use of patrons of 'The Old Court House' pub and of the Prendiville group hotel now under construction to the south of the garden.
