The building is currently tenanted by Kathmandu. Woodsons Arcade runs along the western side through to Cantonment St, where the Woodsons Building is situated.

History
Adelaide St is one of the earliest streets of Fremantle, appearing in the 1833 survey. It is named for Queen Adelaide, consort of William IV.
In 1885 Lot 332 had a five room house which was owned/occupied by David B Francisco, an auctioneer. In 1887 a house and two shops appear on the Lot and are owned by Francisco. In 1890 and 1895 the Fremantle rate books record a dwelling/surgery on the Lot. The owner was the Estate of D B Francisco and the occupant was Dr Alfred White, a surgeon. By 1900 ownership had changed to Robert Thomson Robinson and the occupants were Cooper & Legge Cycle Agents and the Fremantle Road Board. The owner/occupiers were the same in 1905/06.
By 1910/11 ownership had changed to Walter Fisher Beard and the occupants were Phillip Bennett and William Burnside who traded as Bennett & Burnside, greengrocers, provision merchants and importers. Bennett & Burnside occupied the premises until the early 1930s and by 1925/26 were also the owners. From circa 1935/36 to at least 1951/52 the owner/occupiers were Freecorns Ltd, a greengrocers.
The building was originally numbered 21 - 23 Adelaide Street and was assigned the current numbers in the mid 1930s.
On the 5 November 1984 Katies opened in the building and traded there until early 1999. Number 30 was occupied by Dick Smith electronics in 2008.
A Heritage Assessment was prepared in Aug 2009 by Philip Griffiths Architects for a DA submission to Council (DA0389/09) for proposed signage changes and the external repainting of the upper floor.
Physical Description
Two storey rendered and parapeted building which has a bracketed detail to the first floor. The ground floor windows and awnings are not original. Woodson's arcade is situated on the south side.

Statement of Significance
The place is a modest example of a commercial building dating from the first decades of the twentieth century that forms part of a group of similar places and makes a contribution to the Fremantle Town Centre streetscape.
