River Boat Cruise

Briefing Notes

Thank you for booking for the river boat trip on the Spirit of Love next Sunday 1 May. We’re expecting really good weather. We’ll be enjoying live music from fantastic solo performer, Rockin’ Rod, but there is only a very small dance floor on the boat.

Departure details
The boat leaves from the back of Little Creatures in the Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour. Boarding will commence at 12 noon & the boat will depart at 12.30pm sharp. We will be returning no later than 3.30pm. There is ticketed parking available at the Sardine Jetty on the South side of the Boat Lifters but we recommend you catch a Taxi or Uber or get someone to drop you off.

Food and Drink
The boat is licensed and also sells soft drinks so there will be no BYO alcohol or soft drinks. You will need cash as the EFTPOS on board is unreliable. The bar sells meat pies, sausage rolls and potato crisps. You are welcome to bring your own snacks but not any of the items that are sold at the bar. The skipper has requested that food brought on board doesn’t create a mess that has to be cleaned up afterwards.

What to Bring
For safety reasons please wear sensible flat shoes. These will be necessary for moving safely around the boat as well as negotiating the steep stairs to the upper deck.
Please bring a face mask which you will be required to wear in the line-up before boarding and in the saloon area near the bar. Masks are optional outdoors but we encourage you to wear one unless eating or drinking. You may also want to bring sunscreen, a hat/cap & a jacket in case it is cool.
If you suffer from sea sickness you may want to take pills in advance, as at the beginning of the trip there will be a brief time on the ocean in order to enter the harbour and the river.

Buddies and other requirements
It’s a requirement of the skipper that each person has a buddy who is responsible for looking out for them and making sure they have not gone overboard. If you don’t already have a buddy, we’ll team you up with someone on Sunday.

We require a mobile phone number and proof of vaccination for each person on board. If you haven’t given that to us already, please do so by return email to save time on boarding.

We look forward to seeing you next Sunday for what promises to be a most enjoyable day. Please stay safe in the meantime. If you do test positive to COVID or feel unwell, we ask you to stay home rather than risk infecting others on the boat trip. If you can’t join us for any reason, please send me a text on 0400 201 441.
