Two Sisters Hotel
Guildford, 1856-58, another name for the hotel on the site of the present Woodbridge Hotel. According to John Andrewartha, the two sisters were Caroline and Elizabeth EDWARDS. Their father William Edwards purchased the 'Guildford Hotel' and gave it to Eliza (who married Jonathan Jones 1838) in 1857. Her sister Caroline joined her in running the hotel after her husband George Horley died in 1857. Caroline later returned to York, where she was a store-keeper, and the hotel's name reverted to Guildford. Caroline and Elizabeth had both arrived on the Rockingham. Eliza was a pupil at Clarence Beach in 1830.

THE whole of his Stock-in-Trade, household furniture, &c, consisting of a choice selection of wines, spirits, beers, bar furniture, spring cart, horse, harness, tables, chairs, sofas, beds, bedding, drawers, boxes, glass, china, pictures, cutlery, Barrel organ, cooking utensils, &c, &c.
