James George Broomhall
James George Broomhall (1824-1877) was an architect who designed the Masonic Hall in Marine Terrace, and the (Johnston Memorial) Congregational Church in Adelaide Street. He was born in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, and married Jane Hopkins Brampton there about 1846. She died in Fremantle 19 July 1887.

Was an architect in England. Apptd. in 5.1853 as night warder at Frem. He was stationed at Frem, Toodyay & Albany 1865-1872. Explored for coal at Fitzgerald River in 1870 with Surveyor Evans. 1872 at Frem. as Imperial Clerk of Public Works. 1876 designed Frem. Masonic Hall, Congregational Church etc. His wife conducted a private school at Frem. 1873. Congreg. (Erickson).
