John Capewell
CAPEWELL, John, b. 1824, (expiree), son of Henry, arr. 21.11.1858 per Edwin Fox (a widower with 6 chd. in U.K), m. 1.6.1864 (Frem) Lydia JONES b. 1821 (widow of William & dtr. of John Pritchard). Bootmaker. Frem. 1877. Employed 45 T/L men occasionally 1863-1881. Visited S.A. 14.6.1875 per Armistice. Semi lit. Prot. C/E.
In Stephen Stout's c. 1865 photo of High Street, the shop on the nearest corner on the right (probably Mouat Street) has a sign showing J Capewell. It's possible that it shows John Capewell's shop, and possibly even him standing outside it.
