Ken Kelso
Revelation Film Festival:
Ken's working life has stretched from law clerking & mortgage brokerage through labouring to qualified teaching for bubs, primary, secondary to Masters degrees as well as many years of practical tertiary instruction for screen production and scripting with major extended detours into into industry screen writing and/or directing over 30 years for TIE, puppetry and adult stage plus big and small screen scripting, directing and/or producing for long and short form drama, animation plus entertainment, corporate and educational documentary.
Ken has held various creative industry positions including Chairman of the WA Film Council, ABC Commissioning Editor, AWG National Councillor, AFC, AWG and a professional assessor/script editor. He has been awarded a number of screen and stage nominations and awards.
Some of his productions as screenwriter or writer/director are: The 8 hour PBL/Channel 9 mini series A Fortunate Life, the 13 part Southern Star animation series The Adventures of Sam, the Tasmanian Film Corp feature Manganinnie, the 6-part ABC education doco/drama The Erg Report, contributions to Essential Viewing's TV series Lockie Leonard, Barron Film's Kicking Around, Nine Network's Pig's Breakfast and Bay City from Nomad Films, SBS/Coroborree 2000's short screen drama, Where the Two Rivers Meet, Channel Nine Network's doco The Edge of Tomorrow, the Deckchair Theatre's musical drama Fleets of Fortune, Salamanca Theatre's The Biggest Thing That Ever Died, Bent Pin's The Fake Cafe and Couples.
