Carl Ratazzi
Carl Peter Ludwig Ratazzi, 1865-1925, was born in Frankfurt. He moved to Sydney in 1889, where was he was 'naturalized' British. In late 1900, he and wife and three children moved to Fremantle, where he was the agent for NDL, from his office at 5 Mouat St (later Tarantella's night club). He had a fine house called Villa Maria at 115 Queen Victoria St. One of the founding members of the German Club at 195 High St, he was interned as an 'enemy alien' shortly after the outbreak of WW1. After the war he returned to Germany.
