J Shed Arts Precinct

'J Shed' is a cargo transit shed that was removed from the South Wharf to its present position on what is called 'Arthur Head' on the western side that was quarried away to produce the present flat area. The J Shed that was on Victoria Quay had its name changed to H Shed, but it was changed back when it was moved to its present position. See Hutchison (below). It has also been reduced in length. It is now an 'arts precinct'. It has recently been threatened with being a tavern and concert venue and also an Aboriginal centre.
